BECOME A STUDENT

We welcome students of all abilities, whether you're a seasoned textile artisan or setting your hands on a loom for the first time. Weaving students coming to Marshfield for the first time, regardless of experience, enroll in Foundations I. Returning weaving students may enroll in Foundations II, Special Projects/Refresher Weeks, Guest Instructor Classes, and Focused Workshops. Fiber Preparation, Spinning, Dyeing, Fleece to Fulling, and the Warp Weighted Loom classes do not require prior attendance at Foundations I. Please refer to individual class descriptions for any class prerequisites.

 

Scholarships are available for all classes, with applications accepted year-round.

You can also register by mailing a Registration Form along with a check.

Policies

 

Class is in session from 9:30am to 4:30pm, with a break for lunch. The studio is open for working from 8am to 8pm.

Materials: We have an extensive inventory of great weaving yarns for students. At the end of the class, we'll calculate a materials fee based on what you used in your project. We can accept cash, personal checks and paypal  for these in-person payments.

Lodging is available near the school and in the Montpelier area. The closest options include:

 

Cancellation: We rely on advance planning to make sure our space, materials, and instructors are ready for the best class possible— but we understand that life happens. If you are unable to attend, a 100% refund is available up to 60 days before the class. A 75% refund will be issued for cancellation up to 30 days before. Cancellations within 30 days of the class are not refundable. 

Covid-19: Masks are currently optional, and we will update our safety protocols as conditions change. Cancellations due to state health restrictions will not be penalized. Thank you for your cooperation to keep our community, students, and staff safe.
